Clock Planet ("App", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

• Current User Location: The App collects your precise GPS coordinates using iOS Core Location services
• Purpose: To display your current location on Apple Maps and provide location-aware features
• Permission: Requires explicit "While Using" location permission from user
• Storage: Location data is NOT stored on servers; processed locally on device only

Time & Date Information

• System Time: The App reads device time and date for clock display
• No Collection: This data is not collected or transmitted

Device Information

• App Usage: Crash reports and app performance metrics (Apple-managed via Xcode Analytics)
• User ID: No personal identifiers are collected or tracked

2. How We Use Your Information

Location Services

• Display your current location on Apple Maps (MapKit)
• Perform reverse geocoding to show city/region name
• Enable "View Map" and "Open Maps" features
• No third-party sharing: Location data is never shared with external services

Apple Maps API (Optional)

• Search nearby locations (if enabled)
• Calculate directions (if enabled)
• Reverse geocode addresses (if enabled)
• API Authentication: Uses Apple-issued JWT tokens (encrypted, signed)

3. Data Security & Storage

On-Device Processing

• All location data processing happens on your device only
• No location data is transmitted to external servers
• No local storage of location history
• Clock Planet does NOT maintain a backend database for user data

Apple Maps Privacy

• Location queries to Apple Maps API are encrypted
• Apple Maps API tokens are secure (ES256 signing)
• Apple's privacy policy applies to Maps API calls: https://www.apple.com/privacy/

No Data Sharing

• Clock Planet NEVER sells, trades, or shares your location data
• No third-party analytics (except Apple's app-level crash reporting)
• No advertising partners or data brokers

4. Permissions Required

Location Permission (NSLocationWhenInUseUsageDescription)

• Reason: "Clock Planet needs your location to display on the map"
• When Requested: On app launch via splash screen
• User Control: User can grant, deny, or revoke at any time via Settings > Clock Planet > Location

No Other Permissions

• Camera: NOT required
• Photos/Media: NOT required
• Contacts: NOT required
• Calendar: NOT required
• Health: NOT required
• Bluetooth: NOT required

5. Apple Intelligence & Data Privacy

Clock Planet uses Apple Intelligence features and modern iOS frameworks:

• @Observable macro: Local state management (no cloud sync)
• Async/Await: Modern async patterns (device-local)
• MapKit: Apple-native maps (no third-party services)
• Core Location: Apple-native location services
• No Cloud Sync: No iCloud integration; all data remains on device

6. Third-Party Services

Apple Maps

• Service: Apple Maps Web Service REST API

• Data Handled: Location coordinates, search queries
• Your Choice: Maps API features are optional; basic map display works without API calls

No Other Third Parties

• No Google, Mapbox, or third-party mapping services
• No social media integrations

7. User Rights & Control

Location Data

• Review: Open "Settings" → "Privacy" → "Location Services" → "Clock Planet"
• Grant Access: Toggle "While Using" permission ON
• Deny Access: Toggle "While Using" permission OFF
• Revoke Anytime: Changes take effect immediately in app

Data Deletion

• Clock Planet stores no user data on device
• To delete: Simply uninstall the app
• No account deletion needed (no accounts are created)

8. Children's Privacy

Clock Planet does NOT knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with information, we will immediately delete such data and parent/guardian can contact us.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy in the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
