SETUP GUIDE

Claude in Chrome

Install the browser extension, then connect coding tasks when needed.

  1. Open the official Claude Chrome extension and choose Add to Chrome. Check the publisher and review the requested permissions.
  2. Open the extension and sign in with an eligible Claude account. Plan and organization settings can affect access.
  3. For Claude Code browser tasks, use the native Claude Code installation and run claude --chrome. You can also ask Claude Code to use the browser and follow its Install extension setup prompt.
  4. Run /chrome in Claude Code to inspect the connection or reconnect. Review site permission requests. This integration does not run through WSL.

Codex in Visual Studio Code

Bring the coding agent next to your project.

  1. Install VS Code from Microsoft, open your project folder, and open Extensions with Ctrl + Shift + X on Windows or Linux; use ⌘ + Shift + X on Mac.
  2. Search for Codex – OpenAI’s coding agent. Check that the publisher is OpenAI, then select Install.

SETUP GUIDE

Claude Code in Visual Studio Code

Add Claude’s coding panel to the same editor.

  1. Open VS Code’s Extensions view. Search for Claude Code.
  2. Choose Claude Code for VS Code, published by Anthropic, and select Install. Use the official Marketplace listing to identify it.
  3. Open a file, then select the Spark icon in the editor toolbar, or open Claude from the Activity Bar. Follow the browser sign-in flow.
  4. Send a small coding request, inspect the plan or edits, and test the result. The editor panel includes its own CLI copy; installing it does not add the standalone claude command to your terminal.

FROM SPOKEN IDEA TO WORKING CODE

Yes, you can talk through the build.

ChatGPT Voice can discuss and steer a Codex task in the desktop app. Dictation is another option: it turns speech into prompt text you can review before sending.

  1. Open the project’s Codex task in the ChatGPT desktop app.
  2. Select Start voice chat, or Start new voice chat for a new task. Follow the microphone setup.
  3. Describe the result you want, then refine it out loud as work progresses.
  4. Review the changes and test the result. Select Stop voice chat when finished.
TRY SAYING

“Make a simple task-list app. Explain your plan first. Let me review the changes, then show me how to test it.”

Voice availability depends on your plan, rollout and workspace settings. If the button is missing, check app updates or use dictation.
